WESTERN IOWA - 3 days
Day 1: Elk Horn
Tour Time - 7 hours
- Tour authentic 1848 Danish Windmill and shop in Danish Import Shop.
- Tour a nationally renowned ethnic immigrant museum learning about genealogy.
- Eat at an ethnic restaurant, featuring large Danish Buffet with 3 meats and selection of salads.
- Tour a nationally renowned railroad museum.
- Visit local shops and tour a winery offering a wide range of samplings.
- Check into a local motel with indoor pool and free internet connections.
- Supper at local restaurant or a catered meal.
Day 2: Corning - Clarinda
Tour Time - 8 hours
- Elk Horn to Corning

Drive Time - 65 minutes - 60 miles. - Your next stop is in Corning with tour assistance provided by the Adams Community Economic Development Corporation.
- Start the tour with an overview of 1852 to 1898 Icaria in Corning. Then travel to an ethnic colony and learn the unique history of these French immigrants whose "all for one and one for all" philosophy brought them to American and Adams County Iowa to establish an equalitarian community. Enjoy a School Tour with a spell down, meet an Icarian during the Cemetery visit and lunch on a French picnic in the 1878 communal dining hall.
- Tour a local winery & vineyard - enjoy a taste of their award winning wines on their floating tasting room on a pond overlooking the vineyard.
- Shopping opportunities featuring unique shops on Main Street Corning, an award winning Great American Main Street.
- Corning to Clarinda

Drive Time - 42 minutes - 35 miles. - Swing into Clarinda and learn more about the greatest director, composer, trombonist and arranger of the Big Band Era, Alton Glenn Miller.
- Tour the Glenn Miller Birthplace Museum featuring the original Glenn Miller Café-Rouge Band Stands, Miller's AAF Band trombone, musical arrangements, photographs, and memorabilia from Miller's past. Enjoy the Glenn Miller story movie during this visit if time allows. The Glenn Miller Birthplace Home is included in this tour.
- Enjoy an authentic German dinner with all the trimmings at the museum complex.
- Arrange for overnight accommodations in Clarinda at one of our local motels featuring an indoor pool and free breakfast included.
Day 3: Clarinda - Stanton - Red Oak
Tour Time - 8 hours
- Enjoy a homemade breakfast at our famous downtown cafe or complimentary breakfast at the motel.
- The Clarinda Chamber of Commerce will provide tour assistance for your entire visit.
- Visit the Birthplace of 4-H-Goldenrod Schoolhouse and learn about Clarinda's own, Jessie Field Shambaugh, nationally recognized as the Mother of 4-H.
- Enjoy local shopping in beautiful downtown Clarinda.
- Clarinda to Stanton.

Drive Time - 35 minutes - 28 miles. - Tour an ethnic museum along with a homemade Swedish lunch.
- Stanton to Red Oak.

Drive Time - 15 minutes - 10 miles. - Step back in time while you take the heritage hill tour; the ideal way to experience the town's architectural heritage. View past structures in a variety of styles - including Victorian, Queen Anne, Georgian, Italianate, English Tudor and Prairie - all constructed between 1870 and 1916. The Red Oak Chamber and Industry Association office is pleased to provide all the necessary tour information.
- Enjoy the final stop on the heritage hill tour, touring about a local museum complex.
- Your group's overnight accommodations could include the Red Coach Inn and Restaurant.
